9th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education (and Research)
Location: Université Paris Diderot, France
The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Université Paris Diderot, and the Université Sorbonne Paris Cité (USPC), with support from the French Ministry for National Education, Higher Education and Research, is inviting researchers, professors, administrators, policy-makers, practitioners and students to Paris, on 12-14 September 2016, to attend the 9th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education. The European Conferences on Gender Equality in Higher Education have, since 1998, brought regularly together hundreds of gender equality actors from Europe and beyond. The conferences provide an international forum to discuss and exchange information and experiences and share research results on the changes and challenges related to gender in academia, gender equality promotion and interventions in higher education and research institutions.

ENGENDERING HABITAT III Facing the Global Challenges in Cities, Climate Change and Transport
The International Conference ‘Engendering Habitat III’ engages with contemporary challenges to the urban environment, with specific reference to their gender dimensions and the promotion of gender equality. It will contribute to the participatory processes leading up to the New Urban Agenda, to the urgent measures to reduce global warming, and to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including its goals, targets and indicators.
High-level Conference on Mainstreaming Gender into Academic and Research Organisations
The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) in cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation are hosting a high level conference “Gender equality in research institutions: mainstreaming gender into academic and research organisations”. Bringing together around 200 decision-makers and experts responsible for shaping the European research area, the conference will present new research on gender equality plans, policies and their achievements in academic and research organisations in a number of EU Member States. EIGE will also launch its online tool for gender equality in academic and research organisations – GEAR.
